Blurb – Our Library Monster!

Meet Blurb our library monster!

I know you’ll recognise this as a cat/dog bed but it’s use in our library has been invaluable.  It is our book returns ‘box’.

Life before ‘Blurb’ was quite difficult as some children, no matter how many times it was explained, returned books to shelves if there was no one in the library.  This was especially the case with the infant children.  So along came ‘Blurb’.  Every infant class now has a poster with a photograph of Blurb and a speech bubble saying ‘I’m hungry, I want your return books, Feed Me!!’  The children love it and it has become a quite feature in our library; always commented on by visitors.

It was given the name ‘Blurb’ after a we held a naming competition, Nancy thought of this suitably appropriate name.  So now hardly any books are missed from being returned properly as the infants like to feed the monster!
