Literary Weekend

Librarianstale enjoyed22687859_758868237645695_3417927977138551289_n some literary delights in London for a few days, with a literary theme.

The British Library History of Magic Exhibition was absolutely amazing. Looking at the background to the magic and folklore found at the heart of the Harry Potter stories.

The exhibition is full of original first drafts from J.K.Rowling herself as well as manuscripts and books which are centuries old.  I cannot describe just how amazing this exhibition was; revealing the depth of study behind the world renowned story.

Harry Potter was just one of the literary characters enjoyed.  Next was a visit to Paddington to meet the old and new bears on Paddington station, followed by a quick visit to Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens.  After working up an appetite what could be better than an Alice in Wonderland Afternoon Tea.

On to the Harry Potter Studio Tours the following day which absolutely amazed me!
