“My name is Book and I’ll tell you the story of my life.” Non fiction like you’ve never read it before!

This book, by John Agard, takes pride of place in my library.  Book takes us through the history of books from the earliest story telling, mark making, clay tablets and hieroglyphics to illuminated pages, the printing press and even e-books.  It is a very clever auto-biography. Illustrations appear on every page and add to the facts.

It has no specific target audience but children in key stage 2 have been amused by it, being excited by the facts, and I’m sure it would be a thoughtful, well loved book for any book lover.
