WH Smith were promoting this book half price, so I thought I’d give it a try.
Written by Chris O’Dowd, from the telly, and friend Nick Vincent-Murphy, it’s the story of boy who is fed up being surrounded by girls; him being the only boy in the family.
Martin Moone, the main character, needs someone to guide him through his nonsensical life and best friend, Padraic suggests he gets an imaginary friend, or an ‘IF’ for short. Things don’t go to plan. The hilarity begins as Martin searches for the perfect ‘IF’. Plenty of laugh out loud moments in the book and plenty of situations children with siblings can relate to.
Fans of Diary of a Wimpy Kid will love the comic style illustrations which help bring the story to life. I would recommend it to older junior children 9+ I am sure it will be well received in our school library.
